How To Easily Create A Morning Routine For Your Kids In 3 Simple Steps

Becoming a mom is real business, and it can bring about many changes in life– physical, mental, and even emotional. Your entire life suddenly shifts focus and every day now depends on the activities of your child. From the time you wake up to your bedtime, many things seem outside your control.

Frankly speaking, it can be challenging for most new moms to deal with this reality and stay sane, especially since they can't just quit; being a mom whenever they feel like it. And if you're not careful, you may begin to lose your calmness and become more nervous because you're unable to control your life and stay as productive as expected.

So what's the way out? Planning your day and creating a morning routine that keeps you in the right mental shape and sets the tone for your day. After speaking with several new moms, we've culled out these 3 simple tips for creating a morning routine as a new non.

1. Start the evening before

Your morning begins the moment your baby's cry wakes you up. Often, you'd spend the next thirty minutes attending to your sunshine and other activities. If you don't plan your day properly before even starting it, you're already behind. Planning your mornings should begin in the evenings, especially as a new mom who doesn't have absolute control over her time. When you utilize the evenings to condition your mind and note down a list of things you need to do the next day, your mind and actions are more likely to incline towards them subconsciously.
So instead of feeling empty, directionless, and confused, planning the evening before helps you start your day knowing the tasks ahead and feeling more comfortable.

2. Get enough rest

As a new mom, you're quite different from mothers of school-age children because they have more control over their time. Their kids are more mature and typically have a bedtime routine, so such moms can also live by a more stable bedtime plan. However, mothers of newborns tend to have an unstructured sleep pattern because babies take frequent naps rather than a long sleep. These naps can occur at least four times a day, with each nap lasting between 2 to 4 hours. Due to this, it might be difficult for you to get a long stretch of sleep.

Unfortunately, if you don't get enough sleep, you're already creating the right environment for an unproductive and frustrating day. You need to get enough rest to unwind and take good care of yourself and your baby. Some effective ways to get enough shuteye as a new mom include:

 trying to sleep whenever your baby sleeps
 sharing nighttime baby duties with your partner
 asking family and friends to watch your damsel while you take a nap whenever they come visiting
 skip chores when you're tired (everyone will understand)

When you get enough rest every day, you tend to have a more coordinated mental state, which helps you create an effective morning routine and follow your laid-out plan.

3. Meditate

Meditation is one effective way to snap yourself out of a bad mood and stay sane. Regardless of how you wake up, dedicate at least 15 minutes to simply sit in silence and meditate. Meditation gives you a sense of calm, tranquillity, and balance. It reminds you of the "why" behind your struggle and turns a potentially stressful situation into a stress-free and enjoyable one. When you meditate, you begin to show gratitude for every little thing in life and focus on its positives instead of complaining about the imperfections. You get a clear picture of your day as early as possible and carry that positive energy throughout the rest of the day.

In conclusion, remember to include helpful activities like exercise, reading an inspiring book (or novel), and repeating daily affirmations in your to-do list to create a productive morning routine. If you're lucky to be awake before your baby, you can tick off some of these items before they're up. Otherwise, you can
do them after attending to your little one and ensuring they're comfortable.
These activities can help to lift your emotional state and give you the confidence to look forward to a productive and enjoyable day ahead.
